Jalandhar News: Under the directions of S. Harvinder Singh Virk, PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar Rural, and under the supervision of Mukesh Kumar, PPS, Superintendent of Police (HQ/Investigation), Jalandhar Rural, and the leadership of Okar Singh Brar, DSP, Sub-Division Nakodar, the police team of Police Station Noormahal, led by SHO Inspector Palwinder Singh, has successfully apprehended a motorcycle thief and recovered two stolen motorcycles from his possession.
Sharing details with the media, S. Harvinder Singh Virk, PPS, SSP Jalandhar Rural, stated that on 03.02.2026, HC Inder Mohan Sharma No. 62, while present at Police Station Noormahal, received a written complaint from Lakhjit Singh S/o Lakhvir Singh, resident of Model Town, Noormahal.
The complainant stated that on 02.02.2026, he had gone to Shri Guru Ravidas Chowk, Noormahal, to attend a programme organized on the occasion of the Gurpurab of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji, riding his black Platina motorcycle bearing registration number PB08-DA-6656. At about 4:30 PM, he parked his motorcycle near the chowk. Upon returning after the programme, he found his motorcycle missing, which had been stolen by an unknown person.
Based on the complaint, FIR No. 19 dated 03.02.2026 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Police Station Noormahal, and investigation was initiated.
During the investigation, the accused Jaswinder Neki alias Jass S/o Balkar Ram, resident of Rampur, Police Station Noormahal, District Jalandhar, was arrested. The stolen Platina motorcycle (PB08-DA-6656) was recovered from his possession.
The accused was produced before the Hon’ble Court, and one-day police remand was obtained. During the police remand, another stolen motorcycle, Splendor bearing registration number PB-08-CV-9304, was also recovered from the accused.
