Burlton Park Sports Hub to be dedicated by August 2026
Jalandhar News: In a significant boost to urban and sports infrastructure, the ambitious Burlton Park Sports Hub is set to be dedicated to the public by August 15, 2026. Mayor, Vineet Dhir, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, Commissioner Jalandhar Municipal Corporation Sandeep Rishi and senior AAP leader Nitin Kohli, reviewed the progress of the prestigious Rs. 78-crore project.
During the inspection, the dignitaries expressed satisfaction over the pace of construction, stating that the project was progressing in full swing and was well on track for timely completion. Once operational, the state-of-the-art multipurpose sports complex is expected to significantly enhance sports infrastructure in Jalandhar, which enjoys a national reputation as a sporting hub.
Highlighting the broader social impact, they said the sports hub would play a vital role under the Punjab Government’s flagship ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ initiative by encouraging youth participation in sports and steering them away from drug abuse.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal reiterated that the district administration was closely monitoring the project to avoid any delays and had issued clear directions to the executing agency to adhere strictly to timelines. He added that the completion of the Burlton Park Sports Hub would mark a major milestone, positioning Jalandhar on a stronger growth path with world-class sports facilities for athletes and citizens alike.
