New sewerage works to resolve long-pending civic issues in these localities
Jalandhar News: Punjab Horticulture and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat and Mayor Vineet Dhir on Saturday laid the foundation stone for a new sewerage project worth Rs. 42 lakh in Major Colony and Dashmesh Colony falling in ward number 40. The project aims to provide a permanent solution to sewerage-related problems being faced by residents of these localities.
The Minister said the project would give a fresh impetus to development in the area and significantly improve civic infrastructure. He stated that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has adopted a people-centric approach and is taking path-breaking initiatives to strengthen basic amenities at the grassroots level.
Mr. Bhagat reiterated that there was no shortage of funds for development works and assured that more projects related to sewerage, roads and water supply would be rolled out across the city in the coming days. He also lauded the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation for proactively undertaking multiple development projects to enhance urban infrastructure and quality of life for citizens.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Vineet Dhir emphasized that timely and quality execution of development works remains a top priority for the Municipal Corporation. He added that strict instructions have already been issued to officials to adhere to prescribed timelines and maintain high standards during implementation.
Meanwhile, residents of Major Colony and Dashmesh Colony expressed gratitude to the Minister and the civic authorities for addressing one of their long-pending demands, stating that the project would bring much-needed relief to the area.
