Mission Charhdi Kala aids flood victims: Compensation provided for homes, livestock, and crop losses across villages

Punjab News: Led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab has launched “Mission Chardikala” to support people devastated by floods. This is not merely a relief scheme—it has brought a new ray of hope into the lives of Punjabis. So far, relief has reached 1,143 villages, and over ₹35 crore has been directly credited to people’s bank accounts—without any middlemen, without any delay.

In just two days of the third phase, ₹35 crore were distributed, and on the fourth day alone, another ₹17 crore were disbursed. Relief distribution programmes were held at nearly 70 locations across Amritsar, Fazilka, Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Mansa, Sangrur, and SBS Nagar. This is the same government that came in the name of the “common man” and is now truly standing with them in times of distress.

In Ferozepur district, MLAs Ranbir Singh Bhullar, Rajneesh Dahiya, Naresh Kataria, and Fauja Singh Sarari together distributed ₹16.68 crore in relief to 3,000 farmers. In Dera Baba Nanak, MLA Gurdeep Singh Randhawa gave ₹3.71 crore to 935 families. In Ajnala, former cabinet minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal distributed ₹5.86 crore to 1,330 farmers. This is true public service—leaders reaching people directly on the ground.

At Sri Anandpur Sahib, cabinet minister Harjot Singh Bains distributed ₹2.26 crore as crop relief in village Jindwari. In Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala, residents of Bhaini Kadar Bakhsh and Passan Kadim villages received approval letters worth ₹40 lakh. In Dharmkot, MLA Davinderjeet Singh Laddi Dhose handed over ₹5.83 crore worth of approval letters to 1,350 beneficiaries. Every MLA and every minister is on the ground—that’s what sets the Aam Aadmi Party apart.

In Lopoke, Amritsar, SDM Sanjeev Sharma distributed approval letters worth ₹26 lakh to families in villages Toot, Motla, Jai Ram Kot, and Bhagoopur Bet. In Fazilka, MLA Narinderpal Singh Sawna distributed ₹1.57 crore to farmers of Shah Hithar (Gulaba Bhaini) village. In Talwandi Sabo and Maur, Chief Whip Prof. Baljinder Kaur and MLA Sukhbir Singh Maisarkhana provided relief to 380 flood-affected people. Whether small villages or big towns—no one has been forgotten.

Punjab has become the first state in India to provide the highest compensation to flood victims. The aid for damaged houses has been increased from ₹6,500 to ₹40,000; for crop damage, ₹20,000 per acre (the highest in the country); ₹37,500 for milch animals; ₹32,000 for non-milch animals; ₹20,000 for calves; and ₹100 per poultry bird. This is the mark of an honest government—compensation for every loss, delivered with full transparency.

Large companies, too, have joined this noble effort—Larsen & Toubro donated ₹5 crore, and Union Bank contributed ₹2 crore. The most remarkable part is that every rupee is being accounted for publicly. No corruption, no scams—only honesty and diligence. The public, private companies, and banks have all come together—proving that when a government works with integrity, everyone supports it.

For the first time in India’s history, Punjab has introduced the “Jisda Khet, Usdi Ret” (The Farmer’s Field, The Farmer’s Sand) initiative. Farmers can now extract sand from their own fields to restore their land for cultivation—a revolutionary step that empowers them as true owners of their soil. The Aam Aadmi Party truly understood the farmer’s struggle and offered a real solution.

A farmer said, “My entire crop was destroyed, and we lost hope. But within three days, the government deposited compensation. For the first time, help came so fast.” A woman said, “Both my buffaloes drowned; I was broken. But the government gave me ₹75,000—I can now buy new ones.” There are hundreds of such stories showing that Mission Chardikala is more than a scheme—it’s an emotion.

Today, ‘Chardikala’ in Punjab is no longer just a phrase—it has become reality. The Mann government of Aam Aadmi Party has proven that when intentions are pure, resolve is strong, and the heart beats for common people, even the toughest crises can turn into opportunities. Mission Chardikala has given Punjab new strength—of hope, faith, and honest governance. This is Punjab’s new dawn—this is the true story of change.
