Patiala News (April 11): Punjab’s Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, along with Aam Aadmi Party General Secretary and Media Incharge Baltej Pannu, today visited and reviewed a camp for making Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana cards organized by PRTC Chairman Advocate Harpal Juneja at Rajindra Gymkhana and Maharani Club. MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli and District Planning Committee Chairman Tejinder Mehta were also present on the occasion.
Dr. Balbir Singh stated that in the last three months, beneficiaries in the state have availed treatment worth ₹3 crore under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, benefiting from free treatment coverage of up to ₹10 lakh. He said this scheme is unique of its kind, with no parallel in any other state of the country or anywhere in the world.
While interacting with the media, the Health Minister and Baltej Pannu said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has provided major relief to people through the issuance of health cards. Appreciating the camp organized by Advocate Harpal Juneja, they said that the club first got cards made for its staff and now members are coming forward enthusiastically. It is encouraging that more than 300 cards have already been issued here.
Dr. Balbir Singh further informed that the target is to issue health cards to 3 crore people in Punjab, out of which 40 lakh cards have already been made. He appealed to all citizens to avail maximum benefit of the scheme. He added that under the leadership of AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is making steady progress in health, education, and employment sectors to make the state a ‘Rangla Punjab’.
AAP General Secretary Baltej Pannu said that on the occasion of Baisakhi, the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is bringing amendments with stricter provisions in the bill related to “Jagat Jyot Sri Guru Granth Sahib State Bill,” so that no one even dares to think of committing sacrilege. He said the draft of the bill has been prepared after consultations with legal experts, Sikh scholars, intellectuals, and religious saints, and will be made public on April 13.
Baltej Pannu added that the Punjab Government has established rule of law in the state and is determined to act firmly against gangsters by releasing their lists and seeking public cooperation to ensure their arrest and punishment as per law. He also remarked that those opposing the government today are the same people who had earlier pushed Punjab into crisis.
