Over 2,000 raids conducted by 200 police teams under Jalandhar Range; more than 100 apprehended – DIG Jalandhar Range Naveen Singhla

Search operation conducted at 500 locations by 50 police teams in Kapurthala district; 37 arrested – SSP Gaurav Toora

Kapurthala News: DIG Jalandhar Range Shri Naveen Singhla and SSP Shri Gaurav Toora led a march past from Thandi Sadak via Kachahari Chowk, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk and Sat Narayan Bazaar up to the gate of the Main Bus Stand.

While interacting with the media, DIG Jalandhar Range Shri Naveen Singhla said that more than 200 police teams were dispatched across the Jalandhar Range and around 2,000-plus raids were conducted, out of which over 500 raids were carried out in Kapurthala district. During these operations, around 600 criminals and their suspected associates, including gangsters, travel agents, proclaimed offenders and other anti-social elements, were arrested.

Speaking about Operation Prahar 2.0, he said that in Kapurthala district, 50 police teams were dispatched in the morning to launch a search operation, while across the districts under Jalandhar Range, around 200 search teams carried out the drive. As per reports so far, more than 150 offenders under the Jalandhar Range have been taken into custody, including three proclaimed offenders. He added that Operation Prahar 2.0 will continue for the next 72 hours. The operation will also be conducted at bus stands and railway stations across the districts. Besides this, search operations will be carried out during night hours as well, and vehicles will be checked during naka bandi (check-posts). Providing information regarding recoveries, he said that three country-made weapons were also recovered.

Meanwhile, SSP Shri Gaurav Toora stated that 50 police teams were deployed in the district, which conducted raids at 121 different locations. He said that during the operation, more than 75 suspicious persons were questioned and 37 persons were arrested. He added that Operation Prahar 2.0 will continue for the next 72 hours and police teams will also continue night patrolling.
