Addressing the 21st Convocation Ceremony of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar, as the Chief Guest, the Governor said a convocation is like one of the biggest festivals in a student’s life, marking the day when years of hard work bear fruit.

Congratulating the graduating students, he urged them to achieve high positions through their abilities, improve the lives of their families and contribute actively towards building a strong and progressive nation.

A total of 1,454 students were conferred degrees during the ceremony, including 1,011 B.Tech, 237 M.Tech, 23 MBA, 90 M.Sc and 92 PhD graduates. In recognition of outstanding academic performance, 31 medals — comprising 30 discipline-wise medals and one Overall B.Tech Topper Medal — were awarded.

The Governor described NIT Jalandhar as one of the country’s premier institutions, stating that students passing out from here go on to achieve success and bring laurels to the nation on global platforms. He emphasized that along with degrees, character building is equally important for creating a great nation. He also lauded the institute’s contribution in producing world-class engineers and praised its work in research and innovation.

Calling for collective efforts, the Governor sought cooperation from youth in building Rangla Punjab and urged them to take the lead in water conservation, empowering farmers, women empowerment and eradication of drugs.

Earlier, Prof. J.S. Yadav, Chairperson, Board of Governors, welcomed the Chief Guest, while Director Prof. Binod Kumar Kanaujia highlighted the achievements of the institute and reiterated its commitment to nation-building through quality education, research and innovation.
