Sangrur: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, during his visit to Sangrur on Monday, dedicated several development projects to the public and flagged off cancer detection buses. Addressing the gathering, he launched a sharp attack on Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Badal and Congress leaders.
“Sukhbir Badal says that wherever you look on the road, all the work has been done by Badal Saheb. Then why didn’t people vote for them? I didn’t see a government college, school, or university built. The buses you see on the road belong to Badal Saheb. The dhabas and havelis you see belong to Badal Saheb. Show progress! Bribery in courts did not end — Badal Saheb did this,” Mann said.
Taking a dig at the Congress, the CM remarked that the party was busy with internal power struggles. He further alleged that under the Akali Dal government from 2010 to 2017, drug addiction in Punjab rose sharply, claiming that in 2009 around 1,000 people were addicted to drugs, a figure that increased to 20 lakh by 2017.
Mann also mocked Sukhbir Badal, saying that even former CM Parkash Singh Badal had cautioned him about internal matters. “If it was good, why would we come?” he added.
