Neel Garg Slams BJP and PM Modi for Indifference to Flood Crisis in Punjab
Punjab News: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab on Saturday strongly condemned the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre for its complete silence and inaction over the devastating floods that have ravaged Punjab. Despite losses worth thousands of crores to Punjab’s farmers, villages, and economy, not a single word of empathy or any relief package has come from the Central Government.
AAP senior spokesperson Neel Garg questioned the Centre’s indifference, saying, “Does Punjab even exist in the thoughts of our Prime Minister or in the priorities of the Central Government? While BJP leaders in Punjab indulge in hollow theatrics and letter-writing for photo-ops, the reality is that the people of Punjab are suffering immeasurable losses. Yet Central Government remains unmoved.”
Garg reminded the nation of Punjab’s unmatched contributions, adding, “Punjab feeds the nation, Punjab guards the nation on its borders. But when Punjab bleeds, the BJP government looks the other way. This hypocrisy and neglect will not be forgotten.”
He further stressed that Punjab does not need symbolism or token gestures, but urgent action and a substantial relief package. “What Punjab needs is action, not symbolism. What Punjab deserves is justice, not neglect,” he said.
Garg accused, “This discriminatory approach exposes the BJP’s anti-Punjab mindset. Instead of supporting the farmers and families devastated by floods, the BJP is busy playing politics and doing photo ops,” Garg added.
