8000 Security Personnel Monitoring Across 25 Sectors – Director General of Police
Sri Anandpur Sahib: In honor of the unparalleled martyrdom of the Ninth Guru, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the Punjab Government has made solid arrangements to ensure the convenience and security of devotees during the 350th Shaheedi Shatabdi Samagam. Chief Secretary Sh. K.A.P. Sinha and Director General of Police Sh. Gaurav Yadav reviewed the preparations today and instructed officers that no negligence will be tolerated. The Chief Secretary emphasized that all officers must work with a spirit of service and make it their priority to provide complete convenience to the devotees.
The Chief Secretary informed that on 22 November, four divine Nagar Kirtans will arrive at Sri Anandpur Sahib, while on 23 November, Sri Akhand Path Sahib will commence at Guru Ka Bagh, Budha Dal Cantt. He added that renowned religious personalities and saints from India and abroad will participate in the Sarv Dharam Sammelan scheduled for 23 November. On 24 November, a special session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha will be held at Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial, while on 25 November, the Bhog ceremony of Sri Akhand Path Sahib will take place. Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann will also attend various religious events.
The Chief Secretary further stated that to facilitate devotees, the government has arranged accommodation for nearly 10,000 devotees in the Tent City. Additionally, 500 free e-rickshaws and shuttle buses will provide transportation to and from the event locations. He said that 30 modern parking lots have been set up across 100 acres for vehicles. To make Sri Anandpur Sahib clean, tidy, and green, a special tree plantation drive is also being initiated, with significant participation from students, volunteers, and social organizations.
To finalize the arrangements, the administration is continuously conducting multi-level meetings and on-site inspections. Officials assured that every arriving devotee will be provided a smooth and safe experience. The government’s primary objective is to ensure that this historic event is conducted with the highest standards of devotion, discipline, and service.
Speaking about the security arrangements, DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that more than 8,000 security personnel have been deployed, who are monitoring 25 different sectors. Over 500 CCTV cameras will be used to keep an eye on the entire area, ensuring that any anti-social element can be immediately apprehended. ADGP Naunihal Singh will be responsible for the security of the special Vidhan Sabha session.
