Punjab Government Protects Farmers’ Rights, Land Pooling Scheme Withdrawn: Amritpal Singh

Jalandhar News:  Amritpal Singh, Chairman of the District Planning Board, has hailed the Punjab Government’s bold decision to withdraw the Land Pooling Scheme, calling it a landmark, people-first step that safeguards the dignity, rights, and livelihoods of Punjab’s farmers.

Amritpal Singh said, “This is the difference between the Mann Government and the previous anti-farmer administrations. While past governments surrendered to land mafias and corporate builders, our government listens to the voice of the people and takes decisive action to protect them.”

He asserted that the withdrawal of the scheme sends a strong signal to vested interests — the days of exploiting farmers’ land in the name of development are over. “No farmer will be compelled to give up even an inch of land. Under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, Punjab belongs to its people, not to a select group of corrupt profiteers,” Amritpal Singh said.

He further emphasized that all future development in Punjab will be rooted in transparency, fairness, and the consent of stakeholders, ensuring that farmers remain at the heart of the state’s progress.

“This decision is a victory for the farmers, a stinging defeat for those who thrived on loot, and a declaration that Punjab’s resources are no longer up for sale to the highest bidder,” he concluded.
