The entire state government staff and AAP volunteers are on the ground to protect the lives and property of the people
Dinanagar/Gurdaspur:Â Punjab in-charge, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia along with Punjab’s working president and Batala MLA Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi today visited the flood-affected area near the Ravi River in Dinanagar and get information about the entire situation. On this occasion, District President Joban Randhawa, Shamsher Singh, Halka Incharge Dinanagar, Chairman Baljit Singh and Mukhdev Singh Alowal District Media Incharge were also present.
On this occasion, Manish Sisodia and MLA Sherry Kalsi reviewed the situation of the flood-affected villages and interacted with the local residents to get information about the challenges faced and upcoming due to the rising water level of the river.
On this occasion, he said that the Punjab government under the leadership of AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is fully committed to protecting the lives and property of the people in the flood-affected areas. He said that in addition to ensuring immediate measures to prevent damage to agricultural land and residential areas, plans are being made to prepare long-term solutions.
He appreciated the efforts being made by the villagers and officials/employees and social service organizations and assured that the state government is closely monitoring the situation to prevent any untoward incident.
He said that in this hour of crisis, the entire staff of the state government has been active from the first day to protect the lives and property of the people. He said that the entire leadership of AAP, volunteers and the government are standing firmly with the Punjabis in this difficult time.
Due to the breach of the Dhussi of the Ravi river, 324 villages of Makora Pattan, Gahalri, Dorangla, Kalanaur and Dera Baba Nanak areas of Gurdaspur district have come under the influence of flood water. When the flood water reached, the district administration immediately started rescue operations with the help of local police, NDRF, BSF and Indian Army and 5581 people were safely evacuated from the flood-affected areas by helicopters and boats.
