Punjab minister visits flood-hit areas as water level rises in Beas, Sutlej

Chandigarh: Punjab government ministers and legislators will tour flood-affected areas to listen to people’s grievances and provide immediate relief.

Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar on Saturday visited several districts, including Harike and Kutiwala in Patti, and inspected villages hit by floods. He also visited Ram Singh Wala village, where water entered fields and homes following a breach in the Dhussi dam.

Bhullar assured residents that their issues would be resolved at the earliest. He also targeted the Haryana government and urged the Centre to provide compensation to affected families.

For the past several days, the water level of the Beas and Sutlej rivers has been rising, flooding villages in multiple districts including Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, and Patiala.
