One-way traffic/ No Parking / Tow away road arrangements also in place: SP Traffic
Patiala News: Keeping in view the large footfall expected during the Punjab Sakhi Shakti Craft Mela being held at Sheesh Mahal from 21 February to 2 March 2026, the Patiala Traffic Police has earmarked the following three parking areas: Parking 1: Dakala Chungi T-Point, behind Sheesh Mahal. Parking 2: Sanjay Colony Road, opposite Mahindra College. Parking 3: Govt. Mahindra College parking area.
Divulging the details, SP Traffic HS Mann and DSP Puneet Singh Chahal said that the Patiala Traffic Police, under the direction of SSP Varun Sharma, has taken all necessary steps to ensure smooth traffic movement in the city, particularly around the Mela venue. He added that with the support of the district administration and the Municipal Corporation, one-way traffic/ no parking/ Tow away road arrangements have also been implemented.
According to the plan, there will be a one-way traffic/ tow away route is from NIS Chowk → Dakala Chungi T-Point → Vadi Nadi Banna Road, and another from Dakala Chungi T-Point → Dakala Road Chowk on the rear side of NIS.
Secondly route from NIS Chowk to main gate Mahindra college to parking -2 Sanjay colony road is earmarked as tow away road.
The SP further informed that visitors arriving at NIS Chowk from either Upper Mall Road or Lower Mall Road can access the main entry of Sheesh Mahal by following the one-way route. They may then park their vehicles either by turning right at Dakala Chungi T-Point to reach Parking Area 1 behind Sheesh Mahal on Dakala Road, or by turning left towards Sanjay Colony Road to use Parking Area 2. Visitors may also opt to park at the Govt. Mahindra College parking area.
The general public is advised to avoid the stretch from NIS Chowk → Sheesh Mahal → Dakala Chungi → Vadi Nadi Banna Road, as well as the inner Dakala Road on the rear side of Sheesh Mahal.
Commuters coming from Ghalouri Gate are advised to use only the Vadi Nadi Banna outer road to reach Dakala Road or Sular Road, the DSP Chahal added.
