Appeals to residents to avoid panic buying
Warns of strict action against hoarding and black marketing
Jalandhar News: Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal assured the residents of the district that there is no need to panic regarding the availability of LPG cylinders, diesel and petrol, as the district has sufficient stock to meet public demand.

Dr. Aggarwal appealed to residents to avoid panic buying and said that the supply chain is functioning smoothly and adequate stock is available in the district. He added that the administration is closely monitoring the stock of LPG, diesel and petrol in the district to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal also reviewed the current stock today during a meeting with officials of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum Limited, along with representatives of gas agencies and petrol pump associations.
He urged people to stay away from rumours and stated that strict action will be taken against anyone spreading false information about shortages without confirmation from the competent authority.
Warning of strict action against hoarding and black marketing, Dr. Aggarwal said that if any such case comes to light, action will be taken under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. He also asked gas agencies and petrol pump associations to immediately bring any such matter to the notice of the district administration.
During the meeting, gas agency officials informed that the time period for LPG cylinder refill booking is 25 days.
Assistant Commissioner (UT) Mukilan R., DFSC Narindar Singh, officials of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum Limited, and representatives of gas agencies and petrol pump associations were also present during the meeting.
