Sangat overwhelmed with emotion at ‘Hind Di Chadar’ Light and Sound Show in Kapurthala

350th Martyrdom centenary of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji

Kapurthala News:  As part of the Punjab Government’s statewide series of events marking the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji, a captivating Light and Sound show titled ‘Hind Di Chadar’ was presented at Guru Nanak Stadium on Friday. Thousands of devotees from across the region gathered to witness the 45-minute multimedia spectacle, which vividly portrayed the life, teachings, and unparalleled sacrifice of the Ninth Sikh Guru.

The show beautifully illustrated Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib’s profound philosophy of peace, tolerance, and global brotherhood, while recounting His supreme martyrdom — along with Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji — at Chandni Chowk, Delhi, 350 years ago, in defense of human rights, justice, and religious freedom. The Sangat, comprising children, youth, women, and elders, watched in rapt silence and chanted Dhan Guru Teg Bahadur Ji in reverence.

Addressing the gathering, Punjab Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat paid glowing tributes to Guru Sahib and said, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is observing this sacred 350th martyrdom centenary as a humble servant.” He announced that grand commemorative events will be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25.

“The martyrdom of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji was not just for one community but for the fundamental rights and dignity of all humanity,” the Minister added. He emphasized that the government is committed to spreading awareness of this supreme sacrifice to every corner of the country so that the younger generation draws inspiration and moral guidance from it.

Minister Bhagat also informed that a Martyrdom Centenary Yatra will enter Kapurthala district from Goindwal Sahib on November 21.

A Dhadi Jatha enthralled the audience by reciting soul-stirring Varan narrating the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji and His devoted companions.

The large congregation warmly applauded the Punjab Government’s initiative.
Gurpreet Singh who attended with his family from Phagwara, said that this digital presentation in just 45 minutes is a powerful way to connect the new generation with Guru Ghar and our glorious heritage.

Amandeep Kaur from Sultanpur Lodhi remarked, “The show is a fitting tribute to Guru Sahib’s sacrifice for the protection of human rights and religious freedom. It’s a commendable effort by the government.”

Jaswinder Singh, a local resident of Kapurthala, shared, “I feel blessed to witness this emotional and enlightening depiction of Guru Sahib’s life and message of universal harmony.”

The Sangat described the experience as profound and unforgettable, praising the seamless blend of light, sound, narration, and visuals that brought alive Guru Sahib’s timeless ideals.

Prominent among those present were Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal, Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal, SSP Gaurav Toora, District Planning Board Chairman Sarabjit Singh Lubana, Halka Incharge Kapurthala Advocate Karambir Singh Chandi, Chairman and Halka Incharge Sajjan Singh Cheema, Halka Incharge Bholath Advocate Harsimran Singh Ghuman, Phagwara incharge Harnoor Singh Hari Mann , Mayor Phagwara Rampal Uppal and other senior officials and dignitaries.
