Senior IAS Wife of late IPS officer Y Puran Kumar refuses post-mortem until FIR registered

Chandigarh: The wife of late Haryana IPS officer Y Puran Kumar has lodged a complaint with Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, demanding immediate action against those responsible for her husband’s death.

Amneet P Kumar, wife of the deceased officer, said she would not allow the post-mortem or perform the last rites until a case is registered against the officials named in the suicide note and related complaint.

She alleged that despite the incident occurring over 48 hours ago, no FIR had been filed, even though the suicide note mentioned that the officer took his life due to lack of a conducive work environment, mental torture, and distress.

During a meeting with Chief Minister Saini, the family reiterated their stand and said they were awaiting the arrival of their eldest daughter from the US. The family stated that no last rites would be conducted until both conditions — the daughter’s return and registration of an FIR — are met.
