Chandigarh: Two teams of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) reached Punjab late last night following the blast near the Red Fort in Delhi. One of the teams carried out raids in Chandigarh and nearby areas.
According to a senior National Investigation Agency (NIA) official, apart from the existing NIA teams already deployed in Punjab, the Chandigarh unit has also joined them in a joint search operation.
Meanwhile, the central government has issued a red alert in Punjab, directing security agencies to remain on high alert and intensify checking at sensitive locations across the state.
