Amritsar: A potential confrontation is looming between the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Damdami Taksal on June 6, the day observed as Ghallughara Day.

Damdami Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa on Saturday issued a stern warning to the SGPC, cautioning against any move to allow Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj of Sri Akal Takht to deliver a message to the nation or honour families of martyrs on the day.

He said such an act would not be tolerated, hinting at possible resistance if the SGPC proceeds with the plan.

Ghallughara Day is marked to remember those killed during Operation Blue Star in 1984.
