Jalandhar News: In a record-breaking yoga event held at the PAP Grounds in Jalandhar, more than 21,000 people came together under the banner of ‘CM Di Yogshala’, reflecting Punjab’s growing commitment to a healthier lifestyle.

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, who attended as the chief guest, appreciated the overwhelming public enthusiasm for yoga. He expressed happiness at seeing thousands of people actively connecting with the government through this initiative.
He said that ‘CM Di Yogshala’, launched two years ago under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has now expanded across the state with nearly 3,200 yoga classes being conducted daily, benefiting around one lakh people.

Addressing the gathering, Jalandhar Central constituency in-charge Nitin Kohli delivered an emotional message. “Seeing such a large turnout, especially the children who arrived as early as 5 AM, filled my heart with gratitude. It was truly a remarkable experience,” he said.

Kohli extended special thanks to Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh for his unwavering support in making the event a grand success. He also acknowledged the efforts of the district administration and police department officials who worked tirelessly to ensure the event was well-organised and secure.

“I appeal to everyone to make yoga a part of their daily routine. Yoga is not limited to physical fitness—it also brings mental clarity and balance to life,” Kohli said. He shared his personal routine, saying he dedicates an hour each morning to yoga and squash and urged youth to embrace this healthy lifestyle.

He also thanked those who played an active role in the success of the event, including Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur, the Municipal Commissioner, and other dignitaries.
Prominent attendees included Jalandhar Mayor Vanit Dheer, Principal Prem Kumar, Health Secretary Kumar Rahul, Vice-Chancellor of Shri Guru Ravidas Ayurved University Dr. Sanjeev Sood, Director Rajinder Singh Rehal, and ADGP Naresh Arora.
