‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’: Illegal Property of Drug Peddler Demolished in Village Dhina

Jalandhar News: Under the Punjab Government’s ongoing anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh”, Jalandhar Police carried out another decisive action today. The Jalandhar Municipal Corporation, with strong support from the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, demolished an illegal structure belonging to a notorious drug peddler in Indra Colony, Village Dhina, Jalandhar.

Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur stated that the operation was jointly executed by the Municipal Corporation and the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police. CP Jalandhar, along with Joint CP Sandeep Kumar Sharma, ACP Cantt. Sarwanjit Singh, and SHO Sanjeev Kumar, personally supervised the demolition on the ground.

The illegal construction belonged to Amarjit, son of Pal Ram, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sadar, Jalandhar Commissionerate. Amarjit is a notorious drug peddler facing 10 criminal cases under the NDPS Act, Excise Act, and BNS, and is currently absconding.

Meanwhile, under Operation Parhaar 2.0, Jalandhar Commissionerate Police intensified its crackdown against drug trafficking across the district. During the special operation 61 raids were conducted, 11 accused persons were arrested and 06 preventive actions were initiated. Recoveries include 2 Kg 600 grams of opium, 157 grams of heroin and 235 intoxicant capsules

These actions reflect the firm commitment of Jalandhar Police to eradicate the menace of drugs from the district.

Jalandhar Police reaffirmed that no illegal activity related to drugs will be tolerated, and such strict enforcement drives will continue in the coming days.

The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has appealed to citizens to share any information regarding drug trafficking or illegal drug activities through the government-issued WhatsApp number 9779-100-200. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.
