The road, which will stretch from Gidderpindi to Phillaur, is expected to improve connectivity for dozens of villages and provide significant relief to residents living in flood-prone areas.

The project has been pursued for several years by Rajya Sabha MP Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal, who was present alongside the Chief Minister during the foundation-laying ceremony. Local residents have described the development as a major achievement for the region.

Chief Minister Mann arrived in Jalandhar for the event amid tight security arrangements. Large sections of the Sutlej riverfront were secured by police personnel ahead of the ceremony.

Under the project, a durable paved road will be constructed on the Dhussi embankment, improving transportation links and making travel easier for residents of the surrounding villages.

Speaking on the occasion, Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal said the road would greatly benefit local communities by enhancing accessibility and addressing a long-pending demand of the area.

The project is expected to strengthen infrastructure in the region while also improving access during periods of flooding and adverse weather conditions.
