During the hearing, the CBI counsel told the court that Bhullar was not cooperating during interrogation and was avoiding questions posed by the agency.

Meanwhile, Bhullar’s lawyer, HS Dhanoa, requested that his client be provided with medical facilities inside jail. The judge directed that the application be submitted to the jail authorities.

In a related development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also joined the probe. An ED team visited the CBI office to obtain records concerning IAS and IPS officers accused of amassing disproportionate assets. Sources said that names of around 50 Punjab officers have surfaced in the investigation, several of whom are currently serving in field positions.

According to CBI sources, electronic devices and mobile phones seized from arrested middleman Krishna Sharda have yielded evidence of corrupt dealings. Investigators allege that Sharda played a key role in facilitating transfers, postings, and even the cancellation of FIRs in exchange for money through senior officers.
