The accused has been identified as Sahib Singh, whose arrest has sent shockwaves through the Punjab Police.

According to sources, the CIA Staff received specific intelligence that the police officer was allegedly misusing his official position to facilitate drug trafficking. Acting on the information, a special team led by SP (Investigation) Riputapan Singh conducted a raid.

During the operation, the team allegedly recovered around 300 grams of heroin along with suspected proceeds of drug trafficking from premises near Jhabal linked to Sahib Singh, a resident of Majupur village in Tarn Taran district.

Following the recovery, Sahib Singh was taken into custody and is being questioned.

Sources further claimed that the accused officer was allegedly involved in facilitating the supply of heroin smuggled from Pakistan to Punjab and other states. However, these allegations are yet to be officially confirmed.

Punjab Police has not issued a detailed official statement regarding the case. Further investigation is underway, and more details are expected after the completion of preliminary inquiries.
