]]> Islamabad: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has claimed that his country’s National Security Advisor (NSA) is in touch with his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval. “Yes, both of them are in touch with each other,” Dar told Turkish broadcaster TRT during an interview. However, the Indian government has not officially responded to the claim.

Pakistan’s NSA Lieutenant General Asim Malik (Retd.), who also oversees the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), is reportedly the official in contact with India’s NSA.

Dar’s remarks come amid heightened tensions following India’s precision missile strikes on nine terror launch pads across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in the early hours of Wednesday.

The strikes, conducted under Operation Sindoor, were a retaliatory response to a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 tourists.

According to official sources, the primary objective of the strikes was to dismantle terror infrastructure operated by groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, which have been accused of orchestrating cross-border attacks.

Soon after the operation, New Delhi briefed several global leaders and asserted its preparedness for a “resolute response” in the event of any escalation by Pakistan.
