The complaint, filed by community leader Viklav Gold, accused the film of containing scenes that disrespect Jesus Christ and Christian religious practices. The film was released on April 10, just days ahead of Good Friday, which falls on April 18 this year.

Gold also questioned the timing of the release, suggesting it was insensitive to the occasion.

Sanjeev Kumar, Station House Officer of Jalandhar Cantt police station, said that the FIR was registered under Section 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
