Police officials said the actress collapsed at her home after consuming multiple medicines on an empty stomach, which led to a sudden drop in blood pressure.

According to the police, Shefali had been fasting after offering prayers on Friday. She later took several medications, including one injection in the afternoon, which is believed to have triggered a severe reaction.

“Her blood pressure dropped drastically and she began shivering. She then collapsed, following which her family rushed her to a private hospital in Andheri, where doctors declared her brought dead,” an officer said.

Shefali’s husband, actor Parag Tyagi, along with her parents and domestic help, were present at the time of the incident. So far, police have recorded statements of 10 people, including her close family members and staff. No foul play has been suspected at this stage, officials added.
