Chaitanya was produced before a special court in Raipur, which sent him to ED remand for five days till July 22. Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, along with senior leaders Charan Das Mahant and Mohammad Akbar, was present in the court during the hearing.

Earlier, Bhupesh Baghel posted on X, alleging political vendetta behind the ED action. “ED has come. Today is the last day of the assembly session. Adani was scheduled to raise the issue of trees being cut in Tamnar today. ‘Saheb’ has sent ED to Bhilai Niwas,” he wrote.

While on his way to the assembly, Baghel said, “Last time the ED was sent on my birthday. This time on my son’s birthday, Modi-Shah have sent ED to please their boss. Bhupesh Baghel will neither bow down nor be afraid. The issue of Adani will be raised in the assembly today, so the ED has been sent.”
