]]> Washington: Beijing on Monday dismissed Washington’s call for G7 and NATO countries to impose tariffs on China and other nations importing Russian oil, terming it an act of “unilateral coercion” and “economic coercion.” China also warned that it would retaliate if such measures were implemented.

The US demand was rebuffed during the resumption of talks between Chinese and American delegations on economic and trade issues held in Spain.

At a regular news briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said Beijing’s economic and energy cooperation with countries around the world, including Russia, was “legitimate, legal and unblemished.”
