Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has transferred the investigation of the assault case involving Army Colonel Pushpinder Bath in Patiala to the Chandigarh Police. The court has directed that the probe be completed within four months.<\/p>\n
A new investigation team will be formed within three days, excluding any Punjab Police officers. However, the Punjab Police has been instructed to fully cooperate.<\/p>\n
The Punjab Police had earlier formed an SIT that collected evidence and recorded statements, but the High Court rejected its findings.<\/p>\n
The case was taken to court by Colonel Bath, who had sought a CBI probe.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Colonel Bath\u2019s wife, Jaswinder Kaur Bath, claimed to have caught a man tracking their movements. She alleged that he was sending real-time updates and photos via WhatsApp. The man was handed over to the police.<\/p>\n
Reacting to the court’s decision, Jaswinder Kaur Bath said she was satisfied but warned that if justice was not served within four months, they would approach the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n
“I am installing cameras in front of our vehicles because these people can do anything. Even an accident could happen. Governor\u2019s rule should be imposed in Punjab as the situation is very bad,” she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
