Kapurthala: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the Punjab Police allegedly shot himself with an assault rifle near the SSP’s office in the district administrative complex on Friday, police said.<\/p>\n
SP (Investigation) Sarbjeet Rai confirmed that ASI Narinderjit Singh had committed suicide.<\/p>\n
Officials said Singh, who was posted at police lines, snatched an assault rifle from a colleague before shooting himself.<\/p>\n
