New Delhi: The equity benchmark Sensex surged more than 1,300 points on Friday, while the Nifty closed above the 22,900-mark, after the United States announced a 90-day suspension of additional tariffs on Indian goods until July 9 this year.<\/p>\n
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 1,310.11 points, or 1.77 per cent, higher at 75,157.26, helping the domestic markets avert a bearish trend. During intraday trade, the index had rallied as much as 1,620.18 points, or 2.19 per cent, to touch 75,467.33.<\/p>\n
The broader NSE Nifty also witnessed strong gains, rising 429.40 points, or 1.92 per cent, to settle at 22,828.55.<\/p>\n
Tata Steel, Power Grid, NTPC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Reliance Industries and Adani Ports were among the top gainers driving the market rally.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
