Chandigarh: Following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, a high alert has been issued along the India-Pakistan border adjacent to Punjab. The Border Security Force (BSF) has activated its Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) across the region after intelligence inputs suggested potential terrorist activity.<\/p>\n
The BSF has directed its teams to conduct 24-hour patrols and maintain drone surveillance along the border areas of Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, and Fazilka. Officials said immediate action has been ordered in case of any suspicious movement.<\/p>\n
In recent months, incidents involving the dropping of weapons, explosives, and narcotics through Pakistani drones have been reported along the Punjab border. In response, round-the-clock monitoring has been intensified.<\/p>\n
Additional BSF personnel have been deployed, and patrolling and search operations have been stepped up in border villages. Residents in these areas have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.<\/p>\n
To bolster border security, the BSF has deployed high-tech surveillance equipment, including night vision devices and motion sensors.
