While police are treating the case as a suicide, family members of the deceased have alleged that he was murdered.<\/p>\n<p>According to family members, Gurkirat Singh Goldy had gone to the house of an acquaintance from his village at the time of the incident. They claimed that Gurkirat had a relationship with the daughter of the acquaintance.<\/p>\n<p>As soon as information was received, DSP Payal Hemant Malhotra and SHO Akash Dutt reached the spot along with a forensic team. Preliminary investigations suggest that Gurkirat committed suicide, but the exact cause of death is yet to be determined, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The police have recorded the family&#8217;s statement, sent the body for post-mortem, and launched an in-depth investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, tensions flared when police began the process of moving Gurkirat Singh&#8217;s body, with family members strongly protesting and a large number of villagers gathering at the spot.<\/p>\n<p>The deceased\u2019s mother, Daljit Kaur, alleged that Gurkirat was murdered due to his relationship with the daughter of the household where his body was found.
