<\/p>\nNew Delhi: Actor and Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut has deleted a social media post comparing US President Donald Trump with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after BJP national president JP Nadda asked her to remove it.<\/p>\n
Ranaut shared the now-deleted post on X, commenting on Trump\u2019s suggestion to Apple CEO Tim Cook to expand production in India. In her post, Ranaut had drawn comparisons between the two leaders, stating that \u201calthough Trump is the leader of the most powerful country, Narendra Modi is the most popular leader in the world.\u201d She also questioned whether Trump\u2019s statement stemmed from diplomatic insecurity.<\/p>\n
Trump had recently said at an event in Qatar, \u201cIndia can take care of itself. They are doing a very good job.\u201d He also claimed that Apple is ramping up production in the US as a result of his discussions with Cook.<\/p>\n
However, Apple does not currently manufacture iPhones in the US. The company aims to shift a significant portion of its iPhone production to India by the end of next year, reducing dependence on China.<\/p>\n
Following Nadda\u2019s directive, Ranaut said, \u201cI am sorry to express my personal opinion. As per the instructions, I immediately removed the post.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is not the first time Ranaut has found herself in controversy over her statements after entering politics. In September 2024, she sparked debate by urging the re-implementation of the farm laws that were repealed following the 2021 farmers’ agitation.<\/p>\n
On September 23, she said, \u201cI think the laws should come back for the welfare of farmers. I know it can be controversial. The farmers should demand it on their own. Just as the farmers of other regions are benefiting from this, there should be no hindrance in development.\u201d<\/p>\n
