Sonipat: An 3-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in a village under the jurisdiction of Mohana police station in Sonipat district, police said on Sunday. The victim has been admitted to Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College for Women in Khanpur for treatment.<\/p>\n
According to officials, a case was registered under Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused, a man in his 20s and a second-year college student in Sonipat, was arrested within 12 hours of the incident.<\/p>\n
The minor\u2019s father filed a complaint with the Mohana police, following which an investigation was launched. Gohana DCP Bharati Dabas said a forensic team inspected the crime scene and collected blood samples.<\/p>\n
The accused, who is a member of the victim\u2019s extended family, was taken into custody soon after.<\/p>\n
