Mahendragarh: Below Poverty Line (BPL) family in Haryana\u2019s Mahendragarh district has alleged that their ration supply was stopped after a technical error linked a luxury car, belonging to a political leader, to their family ID.<\/p>\n
The family of Rajesh Devi and her husband Virendra, residents of Sisoth village, said they were shocked to learn that an Innova car had been registered under their name in the Haryana Family ID system. The car reportedly belongs to the JJP district president.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe don\u2019t even own a bicycle. How can we have a car?\u201d said the couple, expressing frustration over the alleged negligence of government employees.<\/p>\n
Rajesh Devi, who held a valid BPL ration card, said she used to collect rations from the depot every month. However, this month the ration was denied. When she enquired, the depot holder informed her that her BPL ration card had been cancelled. She was advised to visit a CSC (Common Service Centre) to verify the reason.<\/p>\n
At the CSC centre, she discovered that an Innova car had been registered in her name, leading to her removal from the BPL category. The couple then approached the court and submitted an affidavit, clarifying that their annual family income is between Rs 25,000 and Rs 50,000, and none of the members are employed in any government job.<\/p>\n
In the affidavit, they urged the administration to rectify the error and restore their BPL status, stating that due to technical mistakes, they are being unfairly excluded from welfare schemes.<\/p>\n
