Washington: US President Donald Trump has warned that any country aligning itself with the “anti-American policies” of BRICS will face an additional 10 per cent import tax from the United States.<\/p>\n
\u201cAny country that links itself to BRICS’ anti-American policies will be taxed at an additional 10 per cent. There will be no exception to this policy. Please look into this matter,\u201d Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social.<\/p>\n
However, Trump did not specify which policies he considers \u201canti-American\u201d or which actions by BRICS members would trigger the additional tariffs.<\/p>\n
BRICS, formed in 2009 by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, aims to promote global multipolarity and challenge Western dominance. Last year, the group expanded to include Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n
