New Delhi: The Supreme Court will on Monday hear a plea challenging the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s order transferring the investigation into the alleged assault on a Colonel by Punjab Police personnel to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).<\/p>\n
The incident reportedly took place on the intervening night of March 13 and 14, when Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath and his son were having dinner at a roadside dhaba in Patiala. The alleged assault by police personnel was said to have occurred during a dispute over parking.<\/p>\n
A bench of Justices Sanjay Kumar and Satish Chandra Sharma is likely to take up the matter.<\/p>\n
Colonel Bath has filed a caveat petition in the Supreme Court through advocate Sumeer Sodhi, requesting that no order be passed without hearing his side. A caveat petition ensures that the court does not issue any direction without informing the concerned party.<\/p>\n
