Chandigarh: The Punjab government has withdrawn its controversial land pooling policy following sustained opposition from farmers.<\/p>\n
In an official letter, Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, said the Punjab Land Policy introduced on May 14, 2025, along with related amendments, has been scrapped. All Letters of Intent (LOI), registrations and other work carried out under the policy stand cancelled.<\/p>\n
Farmers across Punjab had been protesting against the policy, alleging that it was a means for the government to seize their land.<\/p>\n
The matter had also reached the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which, a few days ago, imposed a four-week stay on its implementation. The court is scheduled to hear the case on September 10.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
