Chandigarh: Congress MLA from Julana and former wrestler Vinesh Phogat on Wednesday confronted the local police station in-charge during a phone conversation regarding a missing person case. Phogat, who became a mother two months ago, was attending a public meeting in Haryana\u2019s Jind district when she raised the issue.<\/p>\n
According to Phogat, when she sought details of the case over the phone, the Station House Officer (SHO) asked her identity, which led to an argument. \u201cYou do not have the decency to speak. You are in the police department, you also have to take action. What have you done in the case so far?\u201d she was heard saying.<\/p>\n
Phogat later accused the SHO of being irresponsible. \u201cSomeone\u2019s family member has been missing for six days and they have no responsibility. He is telling me that three people go missing every day. If there are so many complaints, then what are you doing sitting on the chair? Do you drink alcohol during the day?\u201d she alleged.<\/p>\n
Responding to the charges, Julana police station in-charge Ravindra Kumar said, \u201cI got a call from the MLA for the first time, so what\u2019s the harm in asking who was speaking? I also provided an update about the case and told her that the matter is under investigation.
