With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 28,025 in 185 days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The raids have resulted in recovery of 433 grams heroin, 29 kg poppy husk, 910 intoxicant tablets\/capsules and Rs 3.5 lakh drug money from the possession of arrested drug smugglers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The operation was conducted on the directions of Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav simultaneously in all 28 Police districts of the state.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Notably, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has asked the Commissioners of Police, Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendent of Police to make Punjab drug free state. The Punjab government has also constituted a 5-member Cabinet Sub Committee led by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema to monitor the war against drugs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Divulging details, Special DGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla informed that over 150 Police teams, comprising over 1200 police personnel, under the supervision of 78 gazetted officers have conducted raids across the state. Police teams have also checked as many as 381 suspicious persons during the day-long operation, he added.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Special DGP said that with the state government has enforced a three-pronged strategy\u2014 Enforcement, Deaddiction and Prevention (EDP)\u2014 to eradicate drugs from the state, the Punjab Police as part of &#8216;De-addiction\u2019 has convinced 52 persons to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2018YUDH NASHIAN VIRUDH\u2019: ON DAY 185, PUNJAB POLICE CONDUCTS RAIDS AT 359 SITES;
