Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced financial assistance of \u20b91,600 crore for Punjab and \u20b91,500 crore for Himachal Pradesh following severe floods in both states.<\/p>\n
In Punjab, Modi visited Gurdaspur and interacted with flood-affected farmers, as well as teams from the NDRF and SDRF, before holding a meeting with ministers and officials. In Himachal, he conducted an aerial survey of damage in Kullu, Mandi, and Chamba districts and reviewed losses in a meeting at Kangra.<\/p>\n
The Prime Minister said the central government would provide all possible support. Compensation of \u20b92 lakh will be given to the next of kin of the deceased, and \u20b950,000 to those injured.<\/p>\n
