Mumbai: Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has spoken out for the first time on the controversy surrounding his film Sardaarji 3, following criticism over its association with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir and the backdrop of the Pahalgam terror attack.<\/p>\n
During a recent show in Malaysia, Dosanjh said that Sikhs can never go against the country and expressed grief over the Pahalgam attack. \u201cWe have always prayed to God that the terrorists get the harshest punishment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Addressing the criticism, he clarified that his film was shot in February, before the attack, while the India-Pakistan Asia Cup match in Dubai was played afterwards. \u201cThis is the flag of my country. Always be respectful,\u201d Dosanjh said in a viral video from the event.<\/p>\n
The singer also explained his prolonged silence. \u201cI have a lot of answers, but I kept everything to myself. No matter what someone tells you, you must not take that poison into you. I\u2019ve learned this from life,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, Dosanjh faced widespread backlash after Sardaarji 3 was filmed with Hania Aamir and scheduled for release worldwide except in India.
