CHANDIGARH: Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a corruption case, was produced before a CBI court in Chandigarh on Thursday following a medical examination.<\/p>\n
During searches at Bhullar\u2019s residence in Sector 40, Chandigarh, the CBI recovered \u20b95 crore in cash and 1.5 kg of gold. Officials also seized keys to BMW and Audi cars, property documents from various locations in Punjab, a farmhouse in Samrala, 22 luxury watches, 40 litres of foreign liquor, a double-barrel gun, pistols, revolvers, airguns, and a large quantity of ammunition.<\/p>\n
The arrest was made after Naresh Batta, a scrap dealer from Mandi Gobindgarh, lodged a complaint alleging that Bhullar had demanded a bribe of \u20b98 lakh to settle an FIR.
