This historic initiative has not only strengthened Punjab\u2019s health system but has also brought real change in the lives of common people. Earlier, where rural and poor people had to run around big cities and government hospitals even for treatment of minor diseases, now those same people are getting free and quality treatment by visiting Aam Aadmi Clinics built in their neighborhoods or villages.<\/p>\n<p>This scheme of the Punjab government has proved to be a big step towards equality in the health sector. According to Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, today a total of 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics are operating in the state \u2014 of which 565 have been established in rural areas and 316 in urban areas. Through these clinics, approximately 73,000 patients are getting free treatment daily. This figure shows that the people of Punjab are showing faith in this scheme and seeing it as true public service.<\/p>\n<p>The achievements of these clinics are no less by any standard. In the past few years, a total of 4.20 crore citizens have received treatment from Aam Aadmi Clinics. Of these, 2.29 crore patients had general OPD, while various tests were conducted for more than 1.91 crore people. These include 6.13 lakh blood tests and 2.48 lakh sugar tests done completely free \u2014 which proves that the Punjab government is taking responsibility for people\u2019s health without burdening their pockets.<\/p>\n<p>This scheme has proved to be a blessing especially for women, children, and the elderly. According to reports, 13.9 lakh women, 6.13 lakh children, and 2.48 lakh elderly people have received treatment from these clinics. This clearly shows that the government\u2019s focus is equally on every section of society. This is not just a health project, but has also become a model of social justice, where every person is getting equal health rights.<\/p>\n<p>The Punjab government\u2019s goal is not just to provide treatment, but also to make people aware about health. Aam Aadmi Clinics have also been developed as \u201cHealth Awareness Centers,\u201d where patients are informed about disease prevention, nutritious diet, exercise, and the importance of regular check-ups. This is improving people\u2019s lifestyles and making disease prevention possible.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Balbir Singh says that through these clinics, the government is not only making health services accessible but is also reaching doctors and paramedical staff to every village. This has decentralized health services and given new strength to health infrastructure in rural Punjab. Now people don\u2019t have to go to district hospitals for minor illnesses, which has also reduced the burden there.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann clearly says that the purpose of Aam Aadmi Clinics is not just to give treatment, but to make Punjab a \u201chealthy and self-reliant state.\u201d This model of the government has also become an inspiration for other states, where there is now talk of following Punjab\u2019s path. The Mann government has proved that when intentions are clear and policies are in the interest of the people, change is definitely possible.<\/p>\n<p>Today, the same message is being heard from every corner of Punjab \u2014 \u201cAam Aadmi Clinics\u201d are not just buildings, but symbols of public service. These clinics are symbols of that new thinking which has brought the health system to every home in Punjab. This initiative of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his team has proved how a sensitive government can live up to people\u2019s expectations.
