CHANDIGARH: A massive gathering was witnessed at Panjab University on Monday in response to a call by the Panjab University Bachao Morcha.<\/p>\n
Despite heavy police restrictions, students, farmers, labourers, religious and social groups, employee unions, and leaders from various political parties across Punjab and neighbouring states reached the campus in large numbers, with more people continuing to arrive.<\/p>\n
Police had sealed all university gates in the morning, but large crowds broke through barricades and entered the campus. Officers also attempted to stop vehicles carrying langars, though several managed to enter later in the day.<\/p>\n
A stage set up near the vice-chancellor\u2019s office resembled scenes from the Singhu and Tikri border protests held during the farmers\u2019 agitation.
