{"id":54982,"date":"2025-11-11T17:48:26","date_gmt":"2025-11-11T12:18:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/punjabenews.com\/English\/?p=54982"},"modified":"2025-11-11T17:48:26","modified_gmt":"2025-11-11T12:18:26","slug":"cross-border-weapon-smuggling-network-busted-in-ferozepur-two-arrested-with-four-glock-pistols","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/punjabenews.com\/English\/punjab\/cross-border-weapon-smuggling-network-busted-in-ferozepur-two-arrested-with-four-glock-pistols\/","title":{"rendered":"Cross-border weapon smuggling network busted in Ferozepur; two arrested with four Glock pistols"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><b>TECHNICAL ANALYSIS OF SEIZED DIGITAL DEVICES IS UNDERWAY TO EXPOSE THE FULL SUPPLY CHAIN: SSP FEROZEPUR BHUPINDER SIDHU<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Ferozepur News:<\/span> In an intelligence-led operation amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state as per directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Ferozepur Police has busted a cross-border weapon smuggling network with the arrest of its two operatives and recovered four 9MM Glock pistols along with four magazines and four live cartridges from their possession, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Those arrested have been identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Gori, a resident of village Ruhela Hazi of Ferozepur and Vikramjeet Singh alias Vicky, a resident of Jalalabad in Fazilka. Apart from recovering a weapon, police teams have also impounded their Hero Deluxe motorcycle (PB 05 AK 9761), which they were riding.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">DGP Gaurav Yadav said that preliminary investigation has revealed that accused Vikramjeet Singh maintained direct links with a Pakistan-based smuggler involved in illegal arms trafficking. Accused Vikramjeet has further confessed to supplying weapons to local contacts on the directions of his Pakistani handlers, he said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The DGP said that Vikramjeet\u2019s arrest has also helped in tracing an earlier case involving the recovery of an AK-47 assault rifle from the same cross-border network. Further investigation is ongoing to establish forward and backward linkages in this case, he added.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ferozepur Bhupinder Singh Sidhu said that acting swiftly on reliable inputs, Police teams have arrested both the accused persons from Basti Boote Wala and recovered two Glock pistols from their possession. Acting on their disclosure, police teams have recovered two additional Glock pistols from the location pinpointed by them, he said.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The SSP said that technical analysis of seized digital devices is underway to expose the full supply chain\u2014 including foreign handlers and local collaborators.
