{"id":55632,"date":"2025-11-21T00:44:25","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T19:14:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/punjabenews.com\/English\/?p=55632"},"modified":"2025-11-21T00:44:25","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T19:14:25","slug":"hc-reserves-order-on-majithias-bail-plea-in-disproportionate-assets-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/punjabenews.com\/English\/latest\/hc-reserves-order-on-majithias-bail-plea-in-disproportionate-assets-case\/","title":{"rendered":"HC reserves order on Majithia\u2019s bail plea in disproportionate assets case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has reserved its order on the bail petition of former Punjab Minister Bikram Singh Majithia in the disproportionate assets case.<\/p>\n<p>The court completed hearing arguments from both sides over nearly 13 days and the verdict can be pronounced anytime.<\/p>\n<p>The case was registered by the state Vigilance Bureau on June 25 alleging that Majithia acquired assets almost 1200% more than his declared income.<\/p>\n<p>The probe agency said he illegally amassed property worth more than Rs 700 crore through money laundering of Rs 540 crore linked to a 2013 drug smuggling network.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Mohali district court has issued an arrest warrant against Majithia\u2019s brother-in-law Gajpat Singh Garewal after he failed to appear for questioning.
