New Delhi: The disruption in IndiGo\u2019s operations across the country intensified on Friday, with the airline cancelling nearly 500 flights amid an acute shortage of pilots and staff.<\/p>\n
The impact was most severe in Delhi, where 225 flights were cancelled, followed by 102 cancellations in Bengaluru. Other major airports were also affected, with 32 flights each cancelled in Hyderabad and Pune. A significant number of flights were reported delayed nationwide.<\/p>\n
Amid mounting passenger inconvenience, the Delhi airport issued a public advisory, cautioning travellers about widespread disruptions in domestic flight schedules.<\/p>\n
The advisory said, \u201cPlease be aware that operational challenges affecting some domestic services may result in flight delays and many flights being cancelled. We strongly recommend passengers to verify their flight status directly with their airline before departure for the airport. Our dedicated teams are working closely with all stakeholders to ensure a comfortable journey for passengers.\u201d<\/p>\n
This marks the fourth consecutive day of disruptions for IndiGo, India\u2019s largest airline, as it struggles to maintain operations due to the ongoing staffing shortage.
